Re-makes of the Christmas Movie Classics.

Another Christmas is upon us and another remake of Charles Dickens Christmas Carol. Well I’ve seen all the other versions I might as well go and see this one.
I love Christmas films, I love Miracle on 34th Street, I can’t make my mind up which version I prefer, but it certainly gets you into the Christmas Spirit.
However in my opinion the best Christmas film ever made is “It’s a Wonderful Life” and not even the master Spielberg would dare tamper with this legend.
When it was first written, no one wanted the script, the film took years to make and when it was released, it was a flop. Over the years the film never went away and today it is ranked Number One of all time Greatest Christmas Films.
I watched James Steward on a Chat Show and when asked, what was his greatest role he announced George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life. When asked why, he replied, George was just an ordinary man, but like us all, his presence touched so many people.
I’ve got to admit, when I watch this film I want to burst into tears, it’s so beautifully made and I can watch it time and time again.
I decided one day, to Google the Christmas Classics and I typed into the search box, “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “Miracle on 34th Street” to find out more information. In the searches it came up “It’s a Wonderful Life on 34th Street”. What is this I thought, not even Spielberg would remake this classic. I went to the website www.santalivenow.com and there was the Script being hawked around on the internet. I then thought nothing has changed, sixty years ago the script for It’s a Wonderful Life was having the same problems.
I read the script and just like the classic it made me want to cry and it filled me full of the Christmas Spirit.
Briefly the Story was about a little girl writing to Santa not wanting a present but wanting Santa to bring her daddy home for Christmas. The end was fabulous, I am not going to tell you the end and spoil it for you, but if this film is ever made, there will not be a dry eye in the cinema.
Maybe if Spielberg does not have the nerve to remake It’s a Wonderful Life here is an opportunity for him to be remembered in the same way as Charles Dickens.
Go to Google type in “It’s a Wonderful Life on 34th Street” sit down by the Christmas tree with a hot cup of Coco and enjoy this new Christmas Classic.
After reading this Story, if you do not believe in Santa Claus you will! The story is humorous, it’s touching, it’s pure fantasy but for some reason the Characters are so believable. I thought of James Stewart when I was reading it, maybe because the main character, the little girl’s father was called Jim. Was the writer of this classic a fan of It’s a Wonderful Life, I think so and I’m pleased he was.- Merry Christmas
